Platy Poo And Behaviour

Hello and happy friday to you all,

Sorry if this has been asked before but i only have internet access at work so dont wanna go through all the posts! I have 4 Hawaain platys, i am a new fish owner, so these questions may seem stupid but there you go!

Ive got a couple of questions:

Firstly, one of my platys (who is definitely a female and possibly pregnant) just poos constantly. the others dont, but there is never a moment when she is not letting out a big long poo. is this normal? (sorry its a bit of a disgusting question...) and yesterday she did a black poo...

Also, 2 of my platys are all gold and 2 have lots of black/purple colouring, and those 2 do not leave each others side at all, whereas the other 2 separate themselves and do their own thing. is this normal?

also, how long would a pregnancy last??? how do they give birth?

hi,
platys are always eating they will help by eating algae too, try not to over feed.
platys like to hang about together ive seen many males just follow the same female 24/7.
they are pregnant for 4 weeks then when she feels safe will hide and give birth to live free swimming fry, they come out of the same place they poop from. all the best Donna

my female platty was always pooping too, its disgusting, but at least not as messy as a stupid pleco, ugly dirty things....

My fish seem to poo to make room for food. How much and how often are you feeding them? You may want to cut back a bit.
