i was wondering if mollies and platys can mate and have fry?,my male white mollie just got lucky with my female red wag platy who had her fry 7 days ago,
he has females of his own but he even tried it on with my angel .

No, Platies and Mollies cannot mate, as they are different families. They can only hybridise within the family. For example;

Platies - Xiphophorus Maculatus
can breed with
Swordtails - Xiphophorus helleri

Mollies are part of the Poecilia family, so they can't breed with Platies.

And yes, male Livebearers are very mating-crazy. It's not uncommon for him to try to mate with every female, whether he can or not. Even other fish.
