One of my platy is staying in the front corner of the tank at the bottom.

I think i will seperate him...what can i give him to perk him up...he has no signs of illness just a clamped top fin.
will he do ok with no filter?

I added 6 Cardinal Tetra yesterday, but water param's were 0-0 this morning.

No filter may be tough, but maybe possible if you do tons of water changes, and only temporarily.

If this one fish looks so unhealthy i would look further into the water quality of the whole tank, as the others soon may be affected. Ammonia and nitrite are not the only things that matter.

Good luck!

i did a 90% w/c and put him back in..he looks a bit better today..maybe he will be the fish to give me the heads up the Ammonia is creeping up. When i tested before the W/C it was 0.25ppm.
The filter was doing that thing again, where it just dribbles out...i took it back AGAIN today and got a replacement...thats the third one in 2 months

I don't know what you mean by 'that thing' but my filter often slows down to a dribble when the media needs a rinse. I presume you did already try that?

sounds like a bit of an over reaction regarding the fish and lack of knowledge when cleaning the filter correctly...It got clogged up quite quickly from the sound of it, are you feeding flake food that might be getting sucked up into it and clogging it? over feeding etc? Im suprised the shop didnt try the filter out themselves? Maybe it is really broken, i doubt it though,....

I havent a clue what i'm doing wrong. I know its not an over reaction with the Platy as he has started doing it again today. (Done another 50% W/C.) He looks at deaths door. :/
A few of the others have now seemed to have lost scales...I see no evidence of rubbing against the rocks.

I do feed flake, and i do crush it quite small..and they hoover it up very quickly. Maybe as its small pieces it gets sucked in with the circulated water. In the blue cage where the biomedia is the little vent on the bottom that goes over the impeller....it all slimes over..I replaced the second one beginning of November. and i've de-slimmed twice since then.
I feed something different every day with 1 day off a week..(today being no food day) and its not masses of the stuff 1 small pinch and maybe a wafer or 2 for the cories.

with Ammonia showing up again..the Platies looking poorly, filter losing output "force"...someone enlighten me??
