Platy mating

How do I know when my platys mate, I know how egg fish mate btut not live bearers, my male kind jabs one of my females with his nose and chases her around but I don't know if they're actually mating.

Any help is appreciated.

lol most peeple dont accually witness the accual prosess but a week after they mate her gravid spot will be visable which means that shes prego.

Keep an eye on them and when you see him trying to 'snuggle' up beside her being all sly and sweet,she's ganna try to take off and he'll attempt to insert his gonopodium into her if he even can. lol That's when you know they're trying to make you some baby platys.
