I have a female red wag platy who is just either sitting at the bottom of the tank clamped not moving at all or inside one of the decorations acting the same way. The only time she is swimming around is feed time. the tank is in normal range ph-7.6 ammonia-0 nitRite-0 NitRATE-40. Any Ideas about what it could be. It dosent look like she has ick or any of my other fish do either. All other fish acting great.

Initial thought would be that she's about to drop fry. Is she gravid?

thanks for the respond she did that about a week ago. She is all skinny again and not gravid spot.

i had a similar problem to you, but i thougt it waas some kind of disease, as one by one, 4 of my platies died, leaving only 2. i added salt and did 2 partial water changes, which seemed to do the trick

Hi there, my platy was doing the same thing as yours when my cherry barbs were having terrible white spot (although she didn't have any spots). I believe there may be something wrong because it's a sign of stress when they rest at the bottom. You could add salt as suggested and see if it gets better :)

one of my males is doing this too...swims occasionally..but on the bottom most of the time. Been told its stress?! :(

I did do the salt and it did seem to work. She is still stay at the bottom a lil but she is becoming more unclamped lately. thanks for all the help.
