Platy Fry!

This morning I woke up late and had this strange feeling that my pregnant platy was givivg birth. So, I quickly set up a little tank with breeding grass and large pebbles and moved her in there. Minutes after I moved her, she started delivering fry! At one time, she had 3 fry all at once! Two hours later, she finished and had 36 fry in total!! I'm so proud of her.

The only problem is that your platy gave birth at that time out of stress... you shouldn't have moved her so close to the drop date. I'm sure you ahve read all about miscarriages and whatnot...

I don't think she gave birth from the stress. When she was in the main tank, she looked like she was giving birth. I think that she delivered some fry in the main tank and the other fish ate them, but most of them were born in the other tank. Her due date was today also. This is her third batch of fry.
