I have about 6 platy fry and I am currently treating the tank for ick... should I stop the treatment, will that hurt the fry? The ick isn't bad, a couple of spots on 2 fish (including the mommy) and the flash against objects in the tank.
If the fry are in the tank now and it is the only tank you have available then continue the treatment. Otherwise your adult fish will have to battle this without the aid of the med and you may loose some of them. ICH starts off slow but can get very nasty if not treated right away. Good Luck
Currently the fry are in a separate tank, but I have no heater or filter in that tank and I am just afraid that it's not the best environment for them for the long term. Should I finish out the treatment in the main tank before adding them in?
Also, I THINK they are platies, they could also be molly babies... they are small and black with silver bellies.
i treated with salt and high temp when i had platy fry and they did ok. didnt loose any and the ich went away. i also heard that Maracide is ok for the fry. its suppose to be ok for cory. just a thought.
