Hi i got a platy to put in with my guppies about a week ago, she gave birth to 4 healthy little fry 2 days later. Ive noticed as they have grown their tail fins (not anal) are an arrow tip shape and they all have it? is this a deformity? as they are growing fast but swim quiet slow. I need info as soon as i can as i dont want to keep them alive if their in pain. My guppy also gave birth the same day and she had 52 fry, their albino :/ Im afread this might affect them badly in the long run, ive never had albinos before... my tank has sunshine for 6 hours a day.. will this affect them? a stringy moss has grown on some rocks i washed and placed in my tank, but they love eating it and playing in it. any suggestions??.. info??..

Could your platy fry have clamped fins? Have you tested your water for ammonia?

Ive tested it but it came back clear, ive only one guppy, 19 guppy fry and a platy along with 4 fry the tank is heavily planted and only the platy seem to have it?
btw its a 50g tank.

Yeah, I have one platy fry who has a pointed tail too (not fanned). She swims normally and everything but hides a lot. I hope she'll get better as she gets older. Not sure of the cause, but I've read around and a lot of people say its because of inbreeding. I think (?) some of them develop a normal tail later though, not sure.....

I only recently bought this platy, she didnt even seem pregnant at the time and she was in an all female tank. anyway so they will be fine\??..

well I'm not sure if it's harmful to them... mine seems to be behaving normally so far. I'm pretty sure they're not in pain though.

No pin Taos have a full tail with a swordtail like appendage. I've had fry like that and they've never survived, might be a nerve defect.
