Hi guy just a quick question i have had fry now from my mickey mouse platy for 2 months now their colours arnt very bright they are a silver with faint orange fins and a blur body when light reflects off them

Anyway basicly tgey are stripped is this normal or is it just something they all go through

Thanks for help in advance :)

Hi mums a white bodyed and dads a mixture of blues and orange fins

I just found it strange that they are strippy lol

The blue an orange is expected as there more dominant pigment its the strippes that gets me lol

I have a yellow/black bumble bee female, and a velvet wag sword that is the daddy of her babies. the babies are orange and black, and one of them is almost all black. But as the fry are still small, they may get darker as they get bigger, as a lot of mine did, or they may stay light colored and resemble the mother. Sometimes it is hard to say. I know that from the beginning, I am always wondering how my fry will turn out.

The colouring on the body of the all the fry does not conform to the same pattern as the parents. I have two sunset Mickey Mouse platys a male and a female. Some of the fry come out with a black Mickey Mouse on them, others have additional black blotches or stripes, but they all have the same background colour as the parents.

It is always a fun game trying to figure out what they will look like :p

Wait till they're fully grown... their colours could change then.
My guppies are about 3 weeks old, and just started to change colour. Only a few are turning colours.
My red wag platys are about 2 weeks old, and one of them is already bright orange with a little hitler moustache.

This made me lol cause a couple of my platy fry have black that goes up their gills so it looks like they have that old fashioned mustache that connects to the sideburns lol
