Platy Fry!

my female red wagtail platy gave birth in the early hours of this morning. i wouldnt have noticed if all my other fish in the tank were so fat! theyd eaten almost half of the batch but ive rescued about 13. im so happy

im gooing to a big aquatic store later so could anyone recommend food etc..?

p.s- the vent of my female is still open does this mean she hasnt finished birthing?

you could get liquifry food or buy i brime shrimp hatched and feed them baby brime shrimp now and then. they will also eat flake food just crunch it down so its easyier for the fish to eat.

im not sure about it givin bith again but most of the time it will give birth a few hours lator or late at night.

once or twice a day, depending on how much food you put in.

just keep your water like you would for all fish, clean.
food issue already answered.

i agree with kewskills just keep the water clean maybe water change twice a week or once a week either way.

i feed mine crushed flakes every day for the first 2 weeks then every other day after that, just keep the water clean and remove any dead as soon as you see them congrats

feed twice a day and 10 % water changes daily to increase healthier, fast growing fish
