So this is where I go, NOT AGAIN.

They aren't really fry, but half grown fish. They're nothing that I can't live without, common red platies I'm raising to trade with, but I definitely don't want to lose them, not with tanks of my best fry a few metres away.
Two of them are pineconing and bloated and I know I have to put them down, I can't see any way out. How do I recognise early symptoms on the others, and is there anything I can do with salt and really cheap antifungal? No signs of it spreading, the other fish are active, eating and look healthy. It's only going through one tank with about 30 juveniles in it.

Any point messing around dipping my hands in bleach before I move stuff between tanks?

Once scales stick out organ failure, the fish rarely makes it once scales stick out.
Dropsy can spread if a fish pecks on the dead body of the fish with dropsy.

I wouldnt soak your hands in bleach.
Just wash them in anti bacterial soap.
