ok well again i have my 2 platys that gave birth to about 15 fry. in last 2 expierences they all died. now this time i decided to leave them in the tank to fend for themselves. there are tons of plants and many areas that are impossible for the bigger fish to reach. i have even noticed that the little fish come out and eat at the same time as the other fish and are not bothered at all. since they are doing so well (so it seems) is it ok to leave them in ther? will they have a better chance?

The general rule is that if a big fish can fit a little fish in its mouth, it will eat the little fish. There are definitely exceptions to the rule. Look at any livebearer tank in a fish store. There are certainly fry that have been eaten, but some of them that are still small enough to be a snack will swim around like the boss of the tank. Being in the main tank is probably better for the fry as far as water quality goes. If there are hiding places for them, I would just leave them there.
