Platy Fish

I have 6 platies and 1 of the mickey mouse platies has been laying on the gravel on its side as if it were dead... what does he have?

Hey there; sorry I didn't notice your post until now.

Have you done a large water change? That should always be the first thing to do if you have sick fish.

Is he showing any other symptoms? have you added anything to the tank recently? tested the water?

i tested the water and i did water changes and added some medicine, but same thing...

all he's done is been on the floor and nothing, usually he's trying to get the girls but today he just spent the whole day like that

Can you post your test results please? How big is the tank, and what's in it? How long has it been set up?

Well, the tank is 10 gallons, has been set up for a little bit over a year now, but i changed species about 5-7 days ago to platies. Here's my results:
Ammonia:0ppm Nitrite:0ppm Nitrate:28ppm pH:7.5 It's OK isn't it?

Also got 3 corydoras, but they are doing fine with the other platies

I have also noticed that his tail instead of being opened wide like the others it's closed and when he swims, he moves his whole back body instead of just moving the fin...

Yes, that's common symptom of 'illness' in fish (sorry to be so vague; research into fish diseases is years behind eveything else)

What was the medicine you used? I'd do 50% water changes every day for a week and see how things look then.

he's been swimming a lot more now, but still wiggling his whole body, i used a tetra conditioner.

It is very common to have that for me... I think it is old age for mine. But I am not so sure of yours... Good Luck!
