Hi, my name is Mel.
I recently brought a new tank, in which i have 2 male platies, and 5 females. I'm sure that 2 of my females are pregnant (gravid) as they have 'the black spot'. They were both like this when i brought them.
The thing that worries me is that both females, although are alert, tend to swin by the surface of the tank, one of which is always closely guarded by one of my males... bless! Is this normal just before giving birth or could there be something wrong? They are eating well and look in good health.
I'm just abit concerned as i only brought one of the females today, and the other about a week ago... could they be stressed, or is it just due to being heavily pregnant?
Any advice is appreciated.
