I have noticed that one of my platys constantly "attacks" or swims directly at one of the females. I didnt realise until I got home from buying them that I had 4 males and 2 females.

Is this behaviour normal, or should I rush out and grab some more females to divert the attention away from that one?

Cheers,
Alex

If you've got room, get 2 females per male, or trade a couple males in for females. If you're not prepared to deal with massive fry numbers, trade in the females. They can get pretty boisterous. He probably just wants to mate. When a female isn't cooperative, I've watched my platy chase her relentlessly or try to sneak up on her.
