Platy Baby!

Can anyone give me some advice.
I have a biorb tank that has 3 platy's in. A couple of months ago one of the fish looked liked it was being chased away by the other two. A few days ago, to my surprise I noticed a tiny baby at the bottom of the tank. Now having looked up info on net I seem to have 1 female and 2 males. It is 1 male that is being chased away leaving the other 2 as a couple. How many fry would there normally be and is it likely that the loner fish may have eaten the others. (I did notice that when the baby swam up from the rocks, that fish moved in on him and the "dad" chased it away). The female is very fat so is she likely to have more and when would this be likely?? Sorry to ask so much but very new to this.

Yes she could have more fry if she still fat, yes they eat there young, if there is plenty of hiding spaces and plants some will survive, good luck.

The number of fry a platy has and the length of time it takes her to have them are a bit unpredictible. If shes still really fat then she may not have had them all yet
If the fry have been eaten then it is not necessarily the lone male that ate them.A female platy is just as capable of eating her own fry.
If you look in the livebearer section there are some excellent pinned articles about fry etc
You should really think of swapping that lone male for another female as he will be bullied by the dominant male. Its also a good idea to have 2 or more females to each male as a lone female will get far too stressed by 2 males or even 1 male.
ps I cant remember offhand how many fry platy usually have but I think its between8/9 to 30.Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong
Good luck with your babies :)
