Platy Babies

Hi, yesterday I bought a male and a female platy to add to my other two for breeding. That afternoon I looked in the tank and there were fry swimming in the tank.

I bought a fry net at walmart and put them in there, 12 fry all together. How long is it going to take them to get big like the mother, before I take them out of the net?

just wondering .... how many other fish do you have in the tank, are any of them boisterous?
do you have alot of plants?
if you have heaps of plant cover(and small, friendly fish), most of the fry will survive without too much attention(ie without the fry trap),
besides they breed like crazy.
anyhoo, most of my platie fry grew big enough (so as to not be eaten) in a month or two.

correct me if im wrong though, it was a very long time ago.
