Plattys

Hi,
I just purchased two plattys. They are so young that the guy in the store (and myself) could not tell what sex they are. How old do they have to be to be able to tell the sex?

Also what kinds of plattys are there? Mine are yellowish/clearish with three black spots right before the tail. The tag on the aquarium just said "small plattys".

There are a lot of different types of platies... I know what ones you are talking about but I don't know the technical name off hand. Usually it takes a few months to tell the sex.

According to the site fish2u.com my plattys are either a white crescent platty or a hi fin platy. I guess I will just have to wait till they are older to really tell.

I also found out my male guppy is a micariffe!
