my sister has both guppies and platty she only had one female guppy left b4 getting a platty and just wondered what baby fry platty do they look like baby guppy fry or do they born with color looking like the parent
Platy fry look shorter than Guppy or Molly fry, which are longer proportionally, although it's difficult to tell when they are small. Time will tell what you are looking at with the fry. Colors should reflect a mix of the parents.
well more than likely if your platy is orange the fry will be too, from my experience a grey female guppy has grey fry and a yellow bodied guppy has yellowish fry
The babies are usually full colored when born. When I had some dalmatian mollies all there babies were born with full color. But guppies devlop color over time.
someone on this forum once described platy fry as coloured little grains of rice, which seemed quite apt to me; guppy fry, as stated above, are more elongated; they also look a little less babyish in shape
