platty having babies with NO MALE!!!!

my next door neighbour has 1 lone platty, never had any other and its a female, it has had 4 broods of fry with no male, im so baffled, is this a freak of nature? do they change sex or sumthin weird?

Depending on how old the first batch of fry are, one of them could be mating with the original female platty.

Well, I thought they were mature at about 3 months. So they are 2 weeks short....it's still possible they are mating with her. But it's hard to say...
