Platies

[Fishtankman]

I have lost two orange platies and have no idea why. I have Silver lyretail mollies and Black mollies, lampeyed tetras, catfich and algae eaters. Each of the Mollies had recently had fry, could that have contributed to their demise? Any help would be appreciated.

Well if what you told me in chat is true then you definately need to start doing more regular partial water changes.

Also get your water tested by a fish store or something because I'm pretty sure that there's no way your Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites can be fine if you've not being doing regular partial water changes. Especially not since plattys are renowned poop machines.

The Nitrate Level should be high if you don't treat your water. Also, Platies raise the Nitrat Level a lot.
