Been watching my platies now for a while an every now an then my blue female platy chases male platy away then he comes back n they dance then she chases him away again so he play's with the other female platies for a while.

Think it might happen because she doesn't want the attention at the time, she never seems to harm him though and I have seen my other female platies chase him away sometimes just as he chases them away when he wants one of them all to himself.

You should have at least 2-3female platys per male so if you don't your female is most likely getting harrassed too much by the male and is trying to defend herself. She could also be pregnant, which is likely if you have a male, as females get less tolerant of the males when pregnant as the male will try to eat her fry and harrass her alot when she gives birth.

Platys are naturally rather promiscuous. It doesnt want to breed with the same male over and over and over. It wants new genetic material.
