My platies (2 female, 1 male) have spent much of the last week hiding. I think it might be because, when they do come out, the male spends all his time chasing the females. Could this be the reason? :dunno: They're not hiding from each other - they're all in the same area.

They all come out for food and seem ok then. Both the females are pregnant but I don't really know how pregnant. :dunno:

Any advice?

(My tank is 20USG and, in addition to the platies, I have 5 glowlight tetras and 3 bronze cories.)

it doesn't sound like the females are hiding from the male as they're all in the same spot. did you just buy these fish? platies are naturally shy. and did you test the water?

Yeah, I've tested the water (apart from nitrates - don't have a test for that atm) and everthing's ok.
I've had the platies a couple of months and they've always been fine before.

I've been watching them more today and it does seem like the problem could be the male. If one of the females comes out, the male follows closely behind. After a short while the females dashes off to a hiding place and the male follows and waits.
