platies eat veggies?

I was wondering if platies will eat blanched lettuce? Because I am going to put some platies in my tank with my black mystery snail and I dont want the platies stealing the lettuce. ALSO will platies mess with ghost shrimp?

Don't know about platies, but my swordies and mollies love cucumber.... so i think the snail will have to share! I have amano shrimps in my tanks with livebearers, kribs, rams and dwarf cichlids, they don't get messed with by anything, so I should think your ghost shrimp should be okay!

also as the only veggies that the snail gets is lettuce, what other veggies will he eat?

my platies seem to never eat veggies but ive heard of alot of peoples eating them. try peas or cucumber

I've only tried my snails on cucumber, but I believe people feed lettuce, spinach, carrots, just about anything really. More solid veggies should be lightly boiled to soften. Maybe I'll try brocolli stems tonite for the snailies and see if they like!

I don't know much about snails, but what I've heard they'll eat anything that is dead if you give them enough time.

My platies eat everything that goes in the tank....especially if it wasn't intended for them. The poor plecs get no peace when I give them cucumber.
