platies and guppies

okay i have both platies and guppies including two females amonst those i got the platies a week ago and guppies about two days ago and according to the info on this site my guppie looks pregnant she is a little bit big but i can completely see the gravid spot and my platies i cant tell what to look for but i know my platy is big please anyone and someone i need help to this whole birth thing because im somewhat new to fish but way more new to breeding them/them having babies(fry) but if someone could please help it would be greatly appricieted thank you,

hi there and welcome to the forum

when the female livebearers are ready to give birth they look huge, sort of square and box-like........they really do look like they are going to burst. There's a very good section at the top of this section of the forum on livebearer breeding here

How big's your tank and how long has it been set up for? Would love to hear more about your fishes..... and - it would mean that we could give you a few more helpful answers Guppies and platties are so much fun.....my first fish were guppies and I still have them in all my tanks

well my tank is a 29 gallon and has been running for about three to four months and ive now realised that the only thing i can do is use the big thing called patience but when the time comes im gonna be so happy
