I have three fullgrown platies in my 10gal tank I was wondering if I could add anymore if I go by the inch per gal rule I can add 2 more is this correct? Also could I add corys with them? I was thinking 3. thanks

hmm no one to comment? ok... then ill just get 2 more platies and 3 cories. :D

I think that would make it crowded, platies grow about 2 inch--2 platies is 6 inches, leavng you only 4 more to spare. Cories are schooling, you need about 6, and they get about 2 inches at least, that makes 12 inches. Even if you get only 3, that makes 6 inches, plus 4 inches of two new platies, plus 6 inches of old platies = 16 inches. If you have mixed sex platies, you shouldn't need to buy more, they'll have babies in no time, and your tank will get overrun with them...

If I got two more platies it'd be 10 on the dot and I have a 20gal for my best fry I geuss you could say and I only got one guppy and some cories in it and I've had 3 albino cories in there for over a year and they are doing great. I wont however add the cories to the 10gal but what should I add as a clean up crew i geuss you could call it?

ive got 4 platys and 3 corys in my 20 gallon and there dong just great with a few other fish. :D

My cleanup crew for livebearer tank are shrimps. Fry tank is bare, so I use small regular snails to clean up excess food, just careful not to move them or their eggs to planted tanks, and I remove all eggs I see so they don't reproduce.

I think adult livebearers (or at least guppies and platies, both of which I keep) are pretty good at cleaning up after their own tanks, they like to pick at the bottom.
