Platies and bettas

i am palnning on stocking my new tank 15gl with a few platies of various sorts, maybe two sorst 5 of each, will there be room for a betta, if indeed it as possable/practical to keep them together??

Yes, that's possible. Most bettas are fine with platies - it's guppies they don't like. And the tank should have room for about 4 of each variety and a betta (wouldn't do 5 of each variety - go for one male and 3 females of each variety).
