how is it possible, and is it right that platies are pooh factories. mine often swim round merrily with waste two/three times the lenght of their body hanging out of them

i think when they're not pooping is when you need to worry...i still remember first tank i had was just 2.5 gallons i had some neons in it and they were ok then we were like lets get two more small fish to put in, seemed like ok idea, so im looking, i hate guppies, im like hmmm platys never seen them before, so i bought a pair of sunset wag tails, and oh man, within two days i was like poor neons i need to buy a 10 gallon for them to be able to actually live in lol only other thing i've heard bout poo is watchin for white poo which could mean they're sick, or black poo is supposedly if they eat fry...normal color is the orangy pink kind if im right...

cheers guys. it won't be hard to keep an eye on the colour as you normaly see the pooh about 20 secs before you see the fish
