I have plastic plants in my aquarium because it's easier... but they keep unanchoring themselfs and floating up to the top of the tank, which is getting very annoying.

The bottom gravel in my BiOrb is big chunky stuff, so I can't fill the little "tray" with it, at the bottom of the plant... and I can't make it dig in properly.

I was wondering, is there any kind of weight I could use in the bottom of the plant to keep it on the bed of the tank? Preferably something that won't kill my fish (a friend suggested Blu-Tak, but I think that's a bit stupid).

This is right off the top of my head, but you might try getting some finer gravel and filling the trays with that. If you could sink the plant into the bigger gravel in the bio-orb it might look nice.

i used one of those weights for fishing lines? you konw those...weights you put on the end of your fishing line with the hook? i just got rid of the tray, tied the plant together wtih a string and put teh weight on the edn of hte string nad threw it in the tank lol :p

Sinkers :D

hahah yes that's it. i just knew it came out of my dad's fishing toolbox :D and you can tell i don't fish very often :D

I was thinking using aquarium sealant to glue them to a piece of slate, and then buring the slate under the gravel. You could also rest a piece of driftwood/ rock on top of the "tray" of the plant to anchor it down. That's what I do with some of the plastic plants in my 10er.
