hi

was thinking of getting some plastic or silk plants . what do u guys think are the best.
most i see look so false.
iam in the uk and any suggestions welcome.

I think the silk plant are more realistic looking, they'll also be less likely to tear the fins of any long-finned fish. :good:
 
yeah i agree, silk plants are nice, in the photo part of the forum theres a thread called " post pics of your small tanks here" have a look at gaz gun mans tank, its stunning with silk plants, i think he intends to replace them with real ones, but its beautiful

IME there's really no advantage from one brand to the next. Go with whatever you like best. :good:
 
ive found that when using either silk, plastic, or fake, if you have a lot of them (they aint cheap) a tank can look stunning. I use to have all fake plants..i had a bunch of tall plants, a 7 or 8 mediums, and 1 really long 24'' that covered the top of the tank. now i mix mine with vallesneria and everything seems "well planted"
 
come to think of it, you will probably pay a lot more for fake ones than real plants, so is there any reason you are going with fake?

yes iam going for fake as i have tin foil barbs and cant find anything other then the onion plant that they wont eat.
