ok have reached the point of my 1st upgrade. currently run a 120l tank with plastic plants , now will soon be upgrading to a 240l tank and i want to use real plants will be using a co2 system from day 1 when i set tank up my questions are ........... can co2 be used when new tank is cycling? i know that when you start off it takes time for the plants to fill out in the tank so how many plants should i put in a 4 foot tank ( would like to end up with plenty of plant cover but also some open swimming space) and finally could anybody reccomend some attractive fast growing easy to maintain plants please also just thought do i need a special substrate??

many thannks mark

you only really need co2 if you have decent lighting, do you know how many watts of light you will be having? also i just have plain gravel and my plants seem to be doing well :good: although i do dose with ferts and have root tabs
