Okay I'm soon going to be starting a 3ft tank(probably a 40g), but I need some help on what plants I should use, I need fast growing plants who do not require ferts. And what kind of wattage am I going to need?

Please anybody have any ideas?

Some more info. It will have Betta's(I'm trying to see if I can keep 2 male Betta's together(I will have back-up tanks ready at all times) and black neon tetras, and possibly a few other very docile fish after time goes on. I will be doing a fishless cycle, ph is 7.6 or 7.8 I can't quite remember which. The water is pretty hard(all of my fish have adapted to it). I will either be using sand or a very fine gravel. And the temp will be kept at a constant 76 Fahrenheit

Hmn, fast growers and no ferts... I guess you could try the usual Hygrophila Polysperma. It should grow fast and likes a little bit of light, but the lack of any ferts might be an issue for fast growers.

Have you considered dosing an off the shelf liquid fertiliser?

I guess they don't have to necessarily be fast growers, but it is important that they are bushy(does that make sense), I'm trying to limit visibility from one side of the tank to the other because of what I'm keeping.

Bushyness with low light is hard to do, First decided on your lights. 3 footer? maybe go with coralife 2x36W ..

Bushy low light plants, goes with amazon swords, Alot of java fern, ALOT OF crypts...
