Plants!

Hi all, i am carefully cycling my 108ltr tank with fish (4 platys + some fry) and i put some donated media in my filter and some gravel from a mature tank yesterday. I was wondering what sort of plants to put in there as i have plastic plants in there at the moment and want to replace them with real ones as the fish like to nibble on them. Any ideas of what kind of plants i should get bearing in mind i am cycling 'fish in'. I have heard they can help with cycling and ammonia levels. Thanks GRJ
