What plants would you recemmend for me to get? I have a 35 gallon tank that has 2 male platys, 2 female platys, 1 black molly, and plan to get a pleco or so. Also one of my platys are going to have fry so if there are certain plants that would be good for my kind of fish could you plaese tell me! That would be great! Thank you so much for helping! If you're going to have fry I would suggest a floating plant or something like Parrot's Feather. Those are two of my favorites. I can't remeber the floating plant's name though, sorry. It started with Java I think.

Java Moss sinks when it's clumped together but it's in strands so it could easily get blown around by the current. Java Moss is really easy to grow and will overtake your tank without regular trimming.

Also, Parrots Feather may be more effective for hiding when a couple of plants are bunched together. And if you want to marbles can be quite effective for hiding spaces too! They are a very pretty decoration as well!

I'd add another couple of female platys; males can be relentless with females. Erm, fish, I mean!.

Oh, good point. Basically having more females than males allows the males to take turns on the females. Too bad no one looks out for us humans this way. :good:

What kind of lighting do you have? That will make a difference on what you can grow well. Also do you have salt in your water? Different plants have different needs. Egeria densa is a pretty good all round plant though. Take a look and do some reading in the planted section. Lots of good info!!!

Lighting is definitely an issue. That is the reason I brought up Java Moss. It grows in low lighting. It's kind of like a weed for aquariums.
