I recently purchased a synthetic plant for my 2 gallon bowl. The petshop had some smaller green plastic plants but I had read that bettas can get hurt by those. The only one they had that was soft was a pink plant which was pretty big, lots of leaves. I was surprised at how big it was once I put in the bowl: it takes up about a quarter of the bowl. I've had it in the bowl for about a week now.
Anyway, I had read that bettas like to have a live or artificial plant. That they like to hide in them and rest on the leaves. But my betta doesn't seem too thrilled to have this plant in there. He basically avoids the area occupied by it.
Have never seen him resting on a leaf (he prefers to rest on the marbles I have at the bottom of the bowl) and have never seen him "hiding" in the plant either.

So I'm beggining to wonder if my betta just isn't into plants or if I have gotten the wrong kind of plant and should remove it.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

My bettas dont like the artificial plants. Luckily I have loads of parrots feathers I think its called in my pond and this weed floats on surface so they can rest their lazy bums on it and watch the world go past! Try taking the artificial weed out and see what he thinks.
