Busting my $100. Does anybody know where you can find good plants and a nice piece (preferably fairly vertical, and small enough to fit snug in a 10g) piece of mopani or other wood? It has to be in the USA, doesn't matter much on the location but near washington would be sweet. Oh, and prices can't be ridiculously expensive.

both of the Petco stores near me carry mopani wood, but a serious word of caution: I have not had any luck with that stuff. Regardless of how long I boil it (once as long as 6 hours) it oozes some kind of clearish-white slime. And it's not just me; I've heard people on here have had the same problem, and if you google "mopani wood" AND "slime" you get a boatload of hits. I kept cleaning off the wood and the slime kept coming back. I finally gave up and got something else at the LFS. I love the look of the mopani but it's just not worth the hassle, IMO. (but I bet others will tell you they had it with no problem... who knows, maybe it reacts with something in the water....)
