Im probably being really dumb but a couple of my plants such as the Elodea Densa are in pots, these keep them nice and tidy but i dont know if they should be kept in them?

I assume your plants are currently based in a rockwool substrate. It is not good to bury these pots in your substrate. If you would like to keep it tidy, I suggest you transfer them to (bigger) pots filled up with a good aquarium substrate.

I dont know what rockwool is but i have a fine gravel with tetra complete substrate

Do you have the same substrate in your pots? If so, you can keep them like that without problems. I assumed that you had planted the plants the way you received them, which is normally in a bit of rockwool (a yellowish/green fibre substance).....

the rockwool is usually what they are grown in...if you plant it...it expands out and looks untidy. take them out of pots to let the roots grow

i un pot and take out as much rock wool as i can without messing up the roots or separated the stems from the crown. I personally find plastic pots unsightly in a natural tank..

ok thanx guys, was just wondering if the pots hampered the plants root groth in any way but i guess it should be fine.
