Round my mums house i have a aquarium set up.I useto have red ludwigia, wisteria and pennywort...The goldifsh ate them. Now i have put a heater in (for some male guppies i ahve put in there) but i have set it for the lowest temp. The vallis over 6 months or so has aset of about 50 new plants. It is growing even faster now i have the heater and am adding some ferts.Anyway i get load sof green algae because it has no co2 and has not got many plants.Over time i will be able to get an extra nutrafin co2 kit but for now i need more plants which goldfish won't eat. Also the tank light is a crappy beauty bulb (24w).So if someone could list some hardy plants for low light it would be helpful :good:

Thanks

Forget it :shifty: ,i have just ordered 5 anubias barteri eyes from aquatic magic.Lets hope i can get them at £1.00 each! The auctions i have seen of them before didn't even sell :good:

Goldfish also don't like java fern or java moss, a taste thing. I was going to suggest anubias as well, but you seem to have that covered. I have an easy plant list in my signature, but most of them would not be goldfish friendly.

Goldfish and guppies not the best mix, you'll have to decide what you want. Goldfish are really a coldwater fish and guppies, though extremely hardy, are tropical.

llj :)

I've tried java moss and fern, goldfish loved to eat them  Even though i thought they would be fine  .I know what you mean guppies and goldfish arn't the best mix  I have to much excess fry so i put a few in there.Sorry forgot to mention the goldfish are fancies(ryukin, shubumpkin, pearlscale etc). They have been living in there a few months. It was kind of an experiment. With temps inbetween both fish seem fine. But i will be removing all of them soon because the fry are growing up and the males are trying to mate with the females(prematurely).Selling around 50 guppies £5.00 if anyone wants!
