I need a plant to help cut down the nitrates in my tank. and also I would like them to have something to eat. I am thinking Duckweed or Water Lettuce. Any suggestions
i have some crypts and giant hygro on my mbuna tank, but my fish seems to enjoy destroying leaves, but the plants are growing so you could try them, plus they grow easily on low light and without additives and fertilizers.....
i have found the more fibrous the plant, the less it is desirable for mbuna. duckweed is eaten. duckweed really does not help with the nitrates though. the faster growing the plant, the more nitrates required.
