Plants for coldwater

Hi!
WEnt to a lfs today for some fish, and found they do really cheap plants (like 30p each for some). I can't remember the labels on them but which common plants will be OK in a coldwater tank? I only want one.

Elodea/Egeria would be a good choice.

Egeria densa, as suggested, is actually a coldwater plant that tolerates high temperatures.

To recommend further, we really need more info. "Coldwater" is a relative term! An unheated tank in a heated house for example, will not drop much below 20C in which case a vast number of "tropical" plants will be okay. What do you expect the absolute minimum temperature of the tank to be?

Also what light do you have?
