were building a tank and its going to be 100cm high, 80 cm wide and 25 cm deep.
i need ideas of fairly common plants that will grow tall enough to fill the tank, rather than having ones just on the bottom
cheers
:good:

vallis, bolbotis, parrot feather are the ones that came to mind straight away, if your in the uk try greenline and look in background plants he's got loads to choose from and they're all really good quality.

Cabomba, Amazon Swords, Vallis, Red Lotus, Elodea...

Most of the sword species get quite tall, java fern would be another option.

Sam

PS - Please don't get parrots feather, it is killing our rivers, streams, lakes and ponds, it gets into water ways so easily you wouldn't believe and then it takes over, and I mean takes over and is almost impossible to kill. Please, please, please don't get any. Thank :)

Crinium/onion plant will grow very tall/long too. Crypt. crispatula "Balansae" will also grow tall and looks really nice (have to give it some root tabs though).

Amazon Swords or if you want something stunning try an aponogeton ulvaceus!

aponogeton ulvaceus is the fastest growing plant i have in my tank, grew up to inches in 10 days, i bought it without any leaves at all, only bought it as a bulb, its the nicest plant in my tank as well and it flowers. Im not doing anything special with my tank.... and it grows about a new 20" leaf everyweek. Its the only plant i need to trim to keep it from blocking the other plants light, it killed my small corkscrew valve since it grew so big. Ive cut about 20 leaves off in 2 months time.
