Hi.
I have posted before but i will post again but in here.

I have some unknown plants (will take pic) and they look half dead.
There is NO meds and NO airstones in the tank, No3 is up by 50 and the PH is 8 (i am working to get this down) the lights i use are the juwel standard and i have 2 filters in. I DONT have a co2.

Post pics in a bit

Thanks

James

Hi James

The lighting in your hood on its own is more than likely insufficient for the particular plants you are trying to grow or having problems with.

Some plants dont need that much light and others need lots so i would say thats where the problem lies.

The lighting that generally comes with kit aquariums although sufficient for the naked eye to view your fish etc is generally not sufficient to grow a lot of plants.

What model Juwel do you have and what is the wattage of the bulbs?

The general rule depending on the size of the aquarium is 3 watts per gallon to grow most plants, you are probably running 1 to 1.5 watts per gallon and this would only be sufficient for low light plants.

Also at this wattage you wouldnt need co2, but fertilizeing your plants on a regular basis would also help.
