So recently (maybe a week) ago I decided to add some rocks and rescape my ten gallon. I took the plants out and set them on a towel for a little less than an hour (oops....didn't think I'd take that long) and when I put them back in the tank they had shriveled up a bit. I took out a rock today (there was no room for the plants to go with it  ) and noticed that non of my Cabomba had grown any roots  . As a matter of fact most of my plants aren't looking near as good as before  . I'm not sure if I should leave them or trash em and start over. My vallis went all to crap  , just a few blades stayed seemingly ok. I basically buried all of it and left a few good leaves exposed in hopes that it would restart itself :rip: . My Rotala's are buched together, and tied by a bunch of friggen black brush algae (thanks aquarium store....I so needed it :grr: ) and seem to be fine. My Hygro Rosa is doing ok, with noticeable growth. Unfortunately some of the leaves have become partly translucsent (not sure if they're gonna die completely or stay that way). I definitely hate the Wisteria. It's growing just fine, but its such a tangled mess that it's pretty unattractive looking.

I really wanted this tank to look awesome by the time I move in to college (aug 21st) but don't think its gonna happen :S . I'm gonna try to find some HC or Glosso to create a 'bed' that will cover the unatractive and messy dirt I have (and hate :< ).

I'm not using fertilizer YET but will be getting some friday (when I get payed...kinda broke right now)

BTW my pic, not what my tank looks like right now.

Dude, with that amount of lighting (almost 5wpg!) your fert and CO2 dosing has to be absolutely perfect, diy CO2 and not dosing ferts is not going to cut it at all.

The co2 isn't exactly what most people think. Its three 2 liters hooked to a three way gang valve that keeps them under pressure giving me a reasonably controllable amount of co2. I will be buying a system in a little while (when I find a reasonable amount of money) and i'm getting Seachem Flourish on friday (when I get payed).

I'm hoping they'll recover. I know the ugly rotalas are fine and dandy, but the cabomba (my favorite) is'nt quite the way I want it. I had to trim it before but I havn't noticed any growth where I cut it.

that is a lot of light. i agree with gav, you're gonna have to stay right on top of it, no room for errors with ferts, co2 and flow!!
