My plants seemed to be in tip-top condition. I've been running a DIY CO2 system which stills appears to be producing at the moment. It is since i added liquid plant ferts that my plants have started to die off?

What type of plants you got mate?
I think some plants are sensative to liquid ferts..

if the plants are crypts have you recently added them as they suffert crypt rot when added new....

How long have you had the plants in? Sometimes, plants are grown emersed so they die off but they will adapt and reproduce after, also some plants may need more light than others, list the names of plants if you can and how many watts of light you have,

Even the poorest 'snakeoil' fert won't cause the plants to die!!! There must be something else doing that.

Poor ferts will not even cause algae unless they cause a defficiency which as your plants were OK before then a defficiency shouldn't happen.

I must ask a question though!!!

If the plants were doing fine before why did you think you needed to add ferts?

I figured i could give them a bit of a boost. Just trying things really.

As for the plant names, i couldn't tell you! but i'll get pics up soon

Although most of us do add ferts I would suggest the famous old saying is very true :

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Most of us add ferts because the plants require more nutrient than the fish are providing.

This can be due to the light level or just very nutrient demanding plants but I would say that 100% planted peeps would get rid of this expense if it weren't needed. As we would CO2.

If the plants are OK without anything and they look healthy then no need to do anything. Just post up pics tell everyone you dont add anything and make them all jealous. :good:
