Alright, I have had some 1 and 2 g tanks for about 2 years now and I find I am constantly putting new real plants in them because they last me like 2 months and then they die. Why is that? I keep them out of the sunlight but not in the dark. Can someone help me out? They are light green and have lots of leaves on them. I don't even know what they are called... They are also in a ring of lead with some sponge material around them, which I put under the gravel.
This newest one my frogs started to eat it?! Or maybe it's the snail... Either way the roots always die...
Anyone? Thanks!

Well, i'm not exactly sure why your plants die, but i am guessing that you keep bettas in those tanks???

If so, most likely the betta is not producing enough waste and not enough CO2 for the plant to grow. Since the plant is light green, it needs a lot of light. If you want to keep plants in that bowl, look for dark-green plants as it means that they have a lot of clorophyl (sp?) and they are much better at photosynthesizing. Hope this helps.

Do you have a light for the tank? It would help if you explained your tank's conditions, inhabitants, temp., etc.

Wooooooops soo sry. Alrighty in one tank I have danios and in the other AD froggies.

My betta also has one in his tank and that one gets light constantly. The other two tanks just have the daylight, but they aren't by windows because of the algae, nor do they have lights.
