Plants, And Their Place In A New-tank Cycle

Morning everyone,

I just want to know what people think to using plants in cycle.

I've read on my previous thread that you shouldn't use plants in a fishless cycles, but I've read on another link that they are a good source of bacteria?

As a noob, I'm a bit confused and open to sugestions.

Anyone suggest anything?

i`m a week and a half into my first fishless cycle.. and i have plants in my tank and they seem to be thriving (apart from a snail outbreak) they were also my only source of bacteria to speed up the process...

I have cycled with plants many times and it works fine
