Hello,
I just got a 125 gal tank for my Jack Dempsey's (2). Further stocking questions will come a little later...but I have two rather pressing points of concern right now.
1) I went to the beach yesterday and picked up some nice rocks. Some granite and another smooth black rock that looks hard as steel. I want to ensure that all the possible parasites are off. So far I have had then submerged in boiling water for about 20 minutes, then added 2 kg of sea salt to approx 1 gallon of water and have had them sitting over night (believing that is a high enough concentration of salt to kill any living thing on earth!) I'm thinking of scrubbing them with rubbing alcohol too, as that evaporates and will leave the rocks safe. Any other ideas on how to make these tank safe?
2) Can Jack Dempsey's live with plants? My African's have torn the suffing out of my plants
. I am hoping the JD's are a little more tolerant.
Thanks,
