i have a fully planted tank with various plants and bogwood, and am also running an airstone...is there any need to run the airstone or can i remove it? just thinking of oxygen levels etc.
any help would be appreciated!

airstones drive off co2 which you want to stay in the water in a planted tank. if you really want it then only run it at night maybe an hour before lights out then through the night.

plants use co2 and give off oxygen during the day (so the plants will provide the oxygen for the fish)

at night plants take in oxygen and give off co2 hence why you can use an airstone at night,

you dont NEED the airstone at all hence why you rarely see them in planted tanks.

if the plants are growing then it's fair to say there's enough oxygen for the fish.
