So as a graduation present my aunt (a marine aquarium pro) got me set up with plants and a co2 system for my little ten gallong tank. (about 100 bucks....i love her more than ever now!!!)

Basically we got Eco-complete plant gravel (that wasnt very cheap!!!) , 7 plants (small ones), and a Maxi-jet 400. I bought some compact flourescent lights made for plants (that wasn't cheap either).

The aquarium store told me what to do, they started me off. I got a 2 liter bottle and they drilled the top, put a tube in and sealed it and gave me the recipe to make my own co2 out of the two liter: 2 cups suger, 1/2 tsp yeast, 1 tbs baking soda, water. The maxi-jet I use to diffuse the co2 (I attached the bottle to the jet) and I can clearly see bubbles lightly spurting out the jet.

I was just wondering about maybe upgrading my co2 system a little bit. I dont want a pressurized system though.

The more I look I'm thinking everythings set up fine. I dont want the maxi jet to go to waste, it was a nice gift!!!

so what is your question about Co2?

Improving it without going pressurized would be incorporating another 2litre bottle. Join them together via CO2 air line and then one single tubing leading to the maxijet. You can alternate when each bottle gets changed to maintain a constant CO2 output.
