so excited..... :hyper:
Got them off fleebay, missus is picking them up from the post office as we speak,
i put 2 inches of water i siphoned off the fish tank(full of fishy poo)
sitting in my 20 liter, along with a tiny pinch of plants food,
will i get her to throw the plants in there and put the light on for the next 7 hours till i get home?
then turn the light off and leave them on a 7 on 17 off light period?
(ive no CO2 injection)

The plants have been in the post for 15 day?! They'll be mush!

When I get my plants I tend to rinse them in a bucket of conditioned (for peace of mind) tap water to clean any potential nasties off of them. They should be ok in there for a couple of hours.

After that I randomly choose a location in my tank that I'll regret later and plant away! :good:

It was 15days in transit or 15 days since ordering? when i was ordering plants from ebay it took 2 weeks but plants were in transit only for 2 days max. 90% of plants survived transport without problems. In case of some species (especialy Ceratopteris, hygrophilia) even badly damaged recovered nicely or produced new stems/leaves fast.

Depending on what plants you are getting and how they were packaged i would put them in bucket like Bobtastic said to remove chemical stuff (mainly anti snail). You would have to check and remove badly damaged leaves.
If you have possibility I would temporary plant them after where they would have nice access to light and good flow. You would have to forget about aquascaping for some time and leave plants to adapt/recover and develop roots.
After 2-3 weeks when plants developed roots i would start replanting them to more less final positions.

but then she is to plants what doogle here is to cars.
Well ive a empty 20 litre at home , so its going to be my plant hospital tank.
i should really put in some soil and plant them in that,

Tried to look at that link, but got the message "This video contains content from Channel 4, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Which is odd...

I have had plants in the post for nearly three weeks (in the winter) and they were okay. It is amazing what they can live through...

I had plants that were in the post for 2 weeks too. They were in ok condition but they killed all my shrimp instantly! I washed them thoroughly in warm and cold water.

Best thing to do is put them in diluted bleach for about 1 minute or so. :good:
